In light of the circumstance that Australia and the rest of the world is currently facing, we felt it appropriate to communicate the actions and changes implemented at our stores and businesses which consist of our Music Junction stores, The Guitar Shop (QLD) and Future Music Australia. In accordance with the Australian Government Department of Health, we have put in place a range of additional procedures to ensure all members of our staff are able to operate in a safe working environment.
1. In-store purchases
In the immediate term, our stores will continue to stay open as per usual shop hours. Our sales teams will still maintain an in-store presence for customers who prefer to shop physically. The well-being of our staff is primary, and we respectfully request that customers help us keep our great sales team members safe by:
• Trying to maintain a 1.5m distance from them (sorry!)
• Refrain for shaking hands and giving them high-fives/hugs (again, a challenge!)
• Choosing to shop with us on our online-stores if you are experiencing cold and flu-like symptoms
• Delaying your visit to the shop or choosing to shop with us online if you have just returned from overseas in the past 14 days Currently, our stock levels are healthy and orders are still arriving at this stage with minimal impact. Should there be any delays from manufacturing slowdowns, you can expect transparent communication from us.
2. We are open more so than ever…
We are here to help in any way we can and facilitate with those seeking refuge in your music; be it daily, weekly or monthly. Anytime of the day. By this, we mean that we have also put in place provisions to support customers who prefer the option of purchasing online. Purchases and sales/product enquiries can still be made via our phonelines, emails and our social media. If you have previously made an appointment to consult with a member of our sales team in person but now prefer to do so virtually, our technology platform also allow for video calls.
3. Continual assessment
Being family owned of over 50 years, we fully understand the impact of this very trying period on our teams and their families, our customers and their families; and the community at large. For clarity, please note that any of our staff who advise us that they may have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing cold and flu-like symptoms will be asked to self-isolate immediately until such a time as they are cleared by their medical practitioner to return. Our commitment to customer service and community support has never been more affirmed especially during a time such as this. In return, thank you for supporting local, small businesses like ours.
