The Rêverie (1890) is one of Claude Debussy's piano pieces, which, with their compositional dates from 1880 to 1890, are considered part of the composer's early works, and thus belong to the creative period in which Debussy was still strongly influenced stylistically "by French late Romanticism with its neoclassical tendencies" (P. Hollfelder).
Nevertheless, a sound treatment characteristic of the later Debussy already shines through here (as also in the 'Deux Arabesques', composed in 1888).
The 'Rêverie' was first published in 1891.
